Rural Schools Internet Project.
In Zimbabwe, schools text book shortages have become a common problem. Teachers and students are forced to work with little or no support material. Where they exist, learning materials are often out dated. As such, using digital content is the most viable solution. However, there is need to improve internet connectivity for the many students who otherwise have no means to access internet based educational materials.
By setting up Wi-Fi hotspots instead of traditional computer labs in these Schools, SAIDTrust aims to take advantage of the proliferation of mobile devices and to promote their use in accessing essential learning materials. Money raised here will be used to finance the setting up of Internet hubs in the schools and training for teachers on how to prepare digital content.
