Help me to support people affected by conflict and disasters!
Volunteering in Greece and Lebanon made me realize the importance of effective and responsible humanitarian assitance. Recently, I got accepted for NOHA's highly valued Master Programme in International Humanitarian Action. Would you like to support me by making a contribution for the tuition fee?

In the last couple of years, I volunteered for two humanitarian organizations in refugee camps in Greece, because I just could not watch the news and seeing people die in the sea without doing anything. Back in the Netherlands, I got interested in the legal frameworks of Dutch migration law and started to volunteer as a legal counselor while I was finishing up my Bachelor's. Those short-term volunteer experiences made me realize I want to learn more about effective and responsible humanitarian assitance. After all, I really do want to help to make people’s situations better, not unintentionally worse. More recently, I stayed in Lebanon for two months to work for an humanitarian organization with a Syrian refugee community. This time, I tried to prepare as well as I could by obtaining a teaching qualification and learning more about children, trauma and resilience.
I am grateful for those experiences, however short, because I learnt how to deal with hard situations in a professional way and to reflect on my experiences. However, I want to learn from cases from the field how humanitarian assistance is given best, because, when looking back, I sometimes doubt whether my contributions were justified enough. So, by participating in NOHA's Master Programme in International Humanitarian Action, I hope, first of all, to be able to obtain the skills and knowledge which are needed to be of better service in the field.
Secondly, I would like to contribute to sustainable solutions rather than just short term solutions. In my opinion, a multidisciplinary approach is the best way to do this, because then disciplines can reinforce each other. This Master’s Programme would be excellent, because the courses in the programme approach humanitarian aid from different disciplines. This multidisciplinary programme would also fit best to me because of my broad interest and my curiosity to learn from other cultures, people and other academic fields.
Thirdly, it would be an honour to me to learn about international humanitarian action in one of the best programmes in its field. The NOHA Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree Programme in International Humanitarian Action has a great reputation and a long history of training professionals in this field. I believe that all those well-trained and highly-skilled professionals work together to achieve sustainable solutions for contemporary issues. I would like to be part of this group and I would be truly honoured to learn from them as well, so I can be of better service in the field.
Unfortunately, I did not acquire a scholarship and the tuition fee alone is 12,000 euro. The total estimated costs of this Master's programme is 40,000 euro. This is an investment I am willing to make because humanitarian assistance is something very important to me. Over de last couple of years, I already invested a lot of money in order to be able to volunteer and acquire skills needed for the field. However, I know a lot of people who keep telling me they want to help, but do not have time to go to those places affected by conflict and disaster. If you have the same problem, help me to finance this Master's programme so I can keep going to those places to help!
Will you help me to participate in this highly valued Master's Programme? All help is highly appreciated!
Thank you for your time.
